Fire&Chemistry II - Hands + Fixer

First attempt. Hand print with little amount of fixer, sprinkling the fixer with a brush

Second attempt. A lot more fixer on the hand. Feels more watery

Third attempt. A balance between the previous two. Interesting patterns appear on the palm.

Notes:


  • another go at chemigrams+pyrograms. There's more to explore

  • Use my own body parts / Visually convey the sense of touch.

  • Although it is still present, incense is becoming less relevant in these works. Is this what I want?

  • This exploration is pulling towards a new separate series I think. But what is it about?

  • The images make me think of Mida, the myhtological king known for his ability to turn everything he touched into gold. BUT there's no gold here. Should I char some part of the image on purpose and place a layer of gold leaf behind the print? Don't know if I like the figure of a King as reference though.
